The Intellectual intent – A journey of philosophy
Both in route and intention, the north exploration through Patagonia, explores the progression from the almost uninhabitable Cape Horn to Coyhaique’s modern civilisation. Our way is drawn from a will to shape a new perspective on our society. We want to think about it, and share those thoughts in writing.
We will be kayaking where Indigenous, now mostly gone, have been living for many years. As we navigate upwards, we’ll experience the unforgiving elements, as did those who lived here before, now disappeared. This is an interesting point from which to think about today’s condition, the evolution of contemporary life, the relationship our society has with its environment.
The people we will meet, between the long periods of isolation, may be indifferent or curious – each encounter will be treated with as unique, mindfully.
Thinking to move forward and rowing to think, exploring the edges of ourselves to discover what may be lacking in our urban lives. This makes for both a trip and an exploration of philosophy. Our aim is to share and communicate the spirit of a journey: how people experience their environment, how they interact between each other as groups, the forms our civilization take, society, its ethics and its driving force.
